Most Asian markets fell Wednesday as rising oil prices and a tumble in Tokyo spooked investors across the region. Trading in Japan ended early for the first time because of a surge in transactions on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, where the Nikkei 225 index plunged for a second day, dropping 2.9 percent amid jitters about a probe of Internet startup Livedoor Co.
